Solar Motor Drives

300 to 8000 Watts modular systems. Designed for rural areas with unreliable/intermittent power. These systems can be charged by included solar panels and from the domestic power.
300 through 1500 Watt systems are wall mounted and mains connection is by simply plugging into a 15 Amp wall outlet. For security, the panels are designed to be placed outside in the morning and stored inside at night. Each panel connection has a switched disconnect and standard MC4 connectors. 30 Foot MC4 cables are provided with each system. Solar panels have built in adjustable frame stands, allowing the best angle to be set for any time of the year.
3000 and 8000 Watts systems are designed to be installed into the wiring of the House. The 3000 Watt system is 120 VAC while the 8000 Watts system provides split phase 220 VAC along with 120 VAC. Panels are provided with each system.
All inverters are Pure Sinewave! These can be used for any purpose including motors. System frequency is internally controlled to 60 Hz. Charge controllers are MPPT, ensuring maximum harvest of energy from each panel. All systems have enough battery capacity to supply rated power for at least 4 hours!
How are we different than our competitors?
Solar Panels
We provide nominally 225 watt Solar panels. The other guys give you a 100 Watt panel. More panel power means more energy!
MPPT controllers
We use Maximum Power Point Tracking charge controllers. These harvest up to 30% more energy from the solar panels. More energy means more out of your system
Batteries
For the same priced systems, we provide almost double the battery storage capacity. More capacity means more energy to run what you need. Our smallest system provides 1200 Volt-Amp-Hours. The other guys? 720.
Pure sine wave inverters:
Motors do not like square waves. When you see "modified sine wave inverter", read square waves. For regular motors, you need to have an inverter sized 50% larger if you use square waves. And motors produce more heat and are likely to burn out if you use square waves. It takes 50% more power to run a standard motor, reducing the backup time.
Inverter sizing
We size our inverters to allow up to 5 hours of operation at full power. The other guys might give you an 1800 watt inverter, but how useful is this? If you put 1800 watts of draw on their system, you will get less than 15 minutes of usage. What if you match their system with ours smallest system at a rated 300 watt output? Less than 2 hours. And if you were to operate a motor, less! A lot less!
Bumpless transfer
The other guys use a transfer switch. No matter how fast the switch is, it still will probably knock a computer or sensative electronics offline. We supply all power through the inverter at all times! This means you truely never lose power. This is just like the battery backup systems used by your computer.
NEMA rated panels
We provide National Electrical Code NEMA 1 panels for our standard systems. As an option, we can provide NEMA 3R weather proof enclosures with weather proof outlets, allowing mounting the system outside. Our systems are safe as well as powerful and reliable.
Our systems were designed to power refrigerators in places without power. Pure sign-wave power, large solar panels, double size batteries, MPPT controllers make the difference. Why would you pay more for a system that that gives you less?

Tetra West 8000 systems can be stacked to provide more power. Have a big house? Depending on your location, divide the square footage by 1000-1500 to estimate the number of systems.
All systems are wall mounted. Put them where you need the power! Small sysems can be spread around a house for those critical systems.
Custom Systems
We design and implement a variety of custom system. Many of these are designed for off-shore use on oil platforms. They provide charging and AC power supply to Heliport Lighting and Remote Radio Control Systems. Panels are generally NEMA 4 or 4X, including 316 Stainless Steel. Low Maintenance AGM Sealed Lead Acid and Extremely low Maintenance Nickle-Cadmium batteries are used, ensuring long life.
